judging process

in round 1, each video entry is viewed online by a select group of our mva jury members. judges are asked to vote for a top six in each category they judge. these votes are collated and up to 15 top-scoring entries are put forward to round 2.

in round 2, panels of around 10 judges meet to review the entries. they are asked to score in a secret ballot. their votes decide the nominations and ultimate winner.

for best interactive video there is no round 1 voting. all entries are viewed in a live judging session and judges are asked to vote in a secret ballot. for the live categories judges are given a chance to watch the films ahead of the live judging session at which they discuss the entries and vote in a secret ballot. in all cases, their votes decide the nominations and ultimate winner.

entrants for best interactive video and the live categories will need to supply some additional info for the judging session including a written document and, in the case of best live concert the full length film in a digital format. we will contact you once you have submitted your entry to request this info.

jury members are also invited to vote in the individual awards - director, new director, producer, commissioner, artist and production company. these votes decide the nominations and ultimate winner.
